The Minnesota Racquetball Association Board of Directors is actively monitoring and assessing the situation regarding the upcoming 2020-2021 tournament season. Planning for this season is like hitting a moving target, with recommendations for large public gatherings changing often. In accordance with state and federal guidelines, most of our usual tournament venues are implementing a phased approach to reopening at full capacity. Even if the MRA could hold events currently, there is a liability risk to our organization if not in full compliance with all local, city, county, state, and federal government guidelines and restrictions during events. At this time we are not willing to take that risk. We are looking at all of our options and hoping we can get a truncated season in later in the year or early 2021. As soon as we have more information, we will communicate that to our members.
Until we can safely run tournaments again, be aware that there are some Minnesota clubs offering recreational play (see list below). Double check with the front desk for club-specific guidelines on singles/doubles, mask requirements, etc.
Thank you for your patience and stay safe!
