I'm curious about string preferences from the MN group of players.
What is your favorite brand, ga. (16g, 17g or otherwise), Mono or Multi (type) and also your preferred tension and why?  Tension is definitely a subjective and personal flavor. What works for one may not work well for another.
Lately I've been using some Gosen Mono, 17 ga. at 32# in E-Force Lethal/NXT 170g frames.  As for a mono string I also like E-Force Plat. 17ga. but the latest reels have been less durable.  I play mono to help keep the costs a bit lower and the durability/performance is acceptable.  I'll be trying some multi in the coming months to see if I notice much of a difference.

I prefer 18 ga, but I'm not a string breaker.  I normally have to cut my strings out before they break.

My goto string over the last 2 or 3 years is Ashaway PowerNick 18, strung at 28 pounds.   It's a zyex core based multifilament.   Good blend of power and control for me.  I'd like to try the UltraNick Power 18

Recent string I've tried....

Wilson 16 ga, hollow core -- factory strung -- pretty good, lively string for a 16 ga.  Would like to try at lower tension.

Gearbox Mono 18 -- really impressed with the mono string... great value.   Strung at 28 pounds, it has great power... but tension loss is more than I expected and control suffered a bit.  So will likely try it at 30-32 pounds next time.

I've always liked Ashaway Super Kill 17 as a good value string.  Wilson Strike Zone is good too... but SuperKill is cheaper.

For me, I've used the Gamma Asterick string at 17g and 35#. I think it's a more responsive string than the 505 or Biophase, Oxygen strings. I've found that the 505 or biophase strings will 'relax' after a little while so it loses tension. Unfortunately, it's about $12-14 per set.

Head's megablast string is a good string too.
